Every year, the Southwest Transplant Alliance (STA) recognizes individuals and organizations for their exceptional dedication to advancing organ donation and transplantation through the Outlive Yourself Awards. This year’s ceremony, held at the Legacy Center in Dallas, was particularly special as it recognized the Santiago Family.
On April 12, Andrew and Adryan Santiago, along with Texas Health Plano’s organ procurement committee leader Kristi Bonny, RN, raised the Donate Life flag to honor Jordan Santiago.
Good Morning Texas, at WFAA Channel 8, interviewed Heather & Andrew Santiago, and Jocelyn Phillips (STA) to share the importance of BIPOC organ donors and Jordan’s legacy gift.
Last Saturday, a group of Jordan’s friends represented the Jordan Santiago iCare Foundation at the annual Hope Starts Here 5K. This event was created to honor families impacted by organ, eye, and tissue donation while raising support for Southwest Transplant Alliance’s programs.
On April 1st, 2022 the Santiagos attended a special event at Baylor Scott & White in Dallas as the hospital kicked off National Donate Life Month by honoring Jordan Santiago. The family raised a ‘Donate Life’ flag, met some of the organ recipients and some of the hospital staff who took care of Jordan.
