On Monday, May 16, Andrew and Heather Santiago attended a ceremony at Keller High School to present the awards to the first recipients of the Jordan Santiago iCARE Foundation Memorial Scholarship: Charvi Katikala and Brent Bertaux. They also had the opportunity to spend time with the awardees on Friday 13th to learn more about their aspirations and to share Jordan`s legacy.
Last Saturday, a group of Jordan’s friends represented the Jordan Santiago iCare Foundation at the annual Hope Starts Here 5K. This event was created to honor families impacted by organ, eye, and tissue donation while raising support for Southwest Transplant Alliance’s programs.
The TV channel interviewed Ernest Wright – the man who received Jordan`s heart – and the Santiagos. Andrew and Heather had the opportunity to hear their son’s heart beating in Ernest’s chest.
We are pleased to announce that Jordan Santiago iCare Foundation has established a scholarship with Keller High School for Senior graduates. It will be awarded annually, and the scholarship recipient will be able to use the $500 scholarship towards any college.
On April 1st, 2022 the Santiagos attended a special event at Baylor Scott & White in Dallas as the hospital kicked off National Donate Life Month by honoring Jordan Santiago. The family raised a ‘Donate Life’ flag, met some of the organ recipients and some of the hospital staff who took care of Jordan.
The first recipient of the Jordan Santiago Memorial Business Scholarship is Ms. Leah Blassberg. She is a graduate of Keller High School and is an accounting major!
